Jensen Huang, CEO of chipmaker NVIDIA, believes that artificial intelligence will change the world, but he does not expect human jobs to disappear.

In an interview with CBS News broadcast on Sunday night, Huang said that artificial intelligence helps companies, and therefore they naturally expand.

When companies become more productive and increase their profits, they hire more employees, saying: “I have never seen a single company grow its profits without hiring more people.”

He explained that even if some jobs become obsolete, companies will still need people because there are circumstances that machines cannot understand.

But he added: “We hope that artificial intelligence will do things that surprise us. We need that technology to help us explore the universe in ways we couldn’t discover ourselves.”

Markets are awaiting the publication of the American company’s quarterly figures on May 22.
