The second day of the ClimateLaunchpad 2024 Bootcamp began like every great startup journey: with a dream.

Ron Bloemers, CEO of START-U-UP, set the tone with an inspiring story about aQysta-Small Farmers, an innovative brand that not only promotes sustainability but also transforms the lives of farmers in need.

Following this motivational boost, Bloemers delved into the essence of entrepreneurship, emphasizing the importance of a robust business model and the concept of a deal in this field.

This dynamic day also brought a double wave of inspiration, with both entrepreneurship and the empowerment of women in cleantech.

The “Women in CleanTech” expert meeting is a new groundbreaking initiative by ClimateLaunchpad, organized in collaboration with the WOMENA project, supported by GIZ Morocco.

The objectives of this program include creating strategies to support and accelerate women’s involvement in cleantech and entrepreneurship and building a collaborative network of experts to support women in this sector.

The meeting was attended by more than 40 participants, including a diverse group of industry experts and founders from various startups.

This gathering of more than 20 experts in entrepreneurship, women’s empowerment, sustainability, investment, and cleantech aims to strengthen women’s entrepreneurship in cleantech in Morocco, the MENA region, and Africa.

Experts from Morocco and beyond came together at the event to unlock the potential of Moroccan entrepreneurs and help them transform their startups into impactful cleantech enterprises.

Among the attendees were Lamyaa El Bassiti from Startup Universe, Meriam Hamdi from the OCP Foundation, Hajar Mouatassim from Hem Energy, and Sokayna Bellamo from Jodoor.

Also present were Abdessamad Sentissi from Tamkeen Academy, entrepreneurship coach Wacim Benyahya, Hafsa Ouifak from UM6P, and Manal El Attir from the Womenomics Institute.

These experts brought a wealth of knowledge and experience, further fueling the entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to sustainable development.

From the excitement of innovation to the fundamentals of creation, participants eagerly absorbed insights on the intersection of their field with entrepreneurship. Their attentive ears were open to gaining wisdom that would strengthen their startups and drive them to make a tangible impact in the cleantech field.

The methodology was not limited to workshops; roundtable discussions were also held to facilitate direct interaction between participants and experts.

These roundtable discussions provided a platform for meaningful conversations to start connections between startups and industry leaders, fostering collaboration and growth opportunities.

The first roundtable focused on identifying barriers and solutions for women in this sector, while the second focused on developing ecosystem strategies.

The ClimateLaunchpad 2024 Bootcamp proved to be a crucial platform for women in cleantech entrepreneurship.

Through a mix of workshops and fruitful discussions, participants gained valuable insights, identified barriers, and developed strategic approaches to promote sustainable innovation.
