Following the success of previous editions, ClimateLaunchpad is proud to launch the 2024 Bootcamp today at StartGate, the innovative startup campus of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).

This significant event forms an essential part of the Climovation accelerator, aimed at promoting high-impact climate entrepreneurship, as mentioned in a press release shared with Morocco World News.

Supported by UM6P-StartGate and GIZ Morocco, the bootcamp will welcome 18 carefully selected startups.

Over four intensive days, from June 19 to 22, these startups will immerse themselves in personalized mentoring sessions and expert guidance.

The program aims to prepare them for the upcoming national finals, paving the way for the regional finals for Africa, and ultimately, the global finals to be held in the Netherlands this fall.

Ahmed Larouz, Lead of ClimateLaunchPad Morocco, launched the bootcamp to introduce ClimateLaunchPad, the world’s largest green business ideas competition.

With a mission to combat climate change through innovation, invention, and entrepreneurship, ClimateLaunchpad operates in over 56 countries and makes a global impact.

Founded in 2014, it is a major initiative of EIT Climate-KIC, one of the Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs) established in 2010 by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT).

This institute is part of the EU’s overarching strategy to promote sustainable economic growth and address the urgent global challenges of our time.

In addition to launching the bootcamp, Larouz welcomed special guests at the event, including experts in cleantech and entrepreneurship.

The lineup of experts includes Monica Avila Forero, program manager at Cleantech Hub, Ron Bloemers, CEO of START-U-UP, and Houda Boutoulout, senior investment manager and technical advisor at GIZ.

They enthusiastically took the stage and expressed their excitement to participate in the event and engage with startups within the ecosystem.

With industry leaders, experts, and passionate individuals coming together, the stage is set for a transformative journey in climate entrepreneurship.

This gathering marks not only the beginning of a bootcamp but also the start of a collective effort to tackle climate change.
