Morocco has been ranked among the top five international destinations where Spanish travelers feel the safest, according to the report “Key Trends in Travel Insurance for Summer 2024” by Intermundial.

In addition to Morocco, Spanish travelers are proactive in purchasing travel insurance for their trips to Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Italy.

Intermundial’s research shows that, although more people are purchasing insurance earlier each year, many still wait until just before their trip.

The report states that 50% of people purchase their insurance in the same month as their departure, and 24% do so the month before.

The research revealed that people buy insurance 30 days before their trip, but this varies depending on the destination. In Morocco, planning is much shorter, with insurance often purchased only 13 days before departure.

Conversely, in Japan, bookings are made 53 days in advance, indicating a longer planning time.

The same source reported that purchasing travel insurance for flights to these five destinations further underscores Spanish tourists’ confidence in these travel choices, including Morocco.

It was noted that the average cost of this flight insurance for Spanish travelers is around 110 euros.

The kingdom also proved to be a popular destination for Russian tourists and was ranked as the best African country during the past May holiday, according to a new study by MegaFon and reported by the Russian news agency Interfax.

The study showed that the influx of Russian tourists to Morocco in the past month has increased by as much as 60% year-on-year.
