In May 2024, tourism in Morocco continued its remarkable progress, with over 1.3 million arrivals recorded at border crossings, reflecting a growth of +18% compared to May 2023.

In the first five months of 2024, Morocco welcomed more than 5.9 million visitors, 772,000 more than in the same period in 2023, representing significant growth of +15%, according to the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts, and the Social and Solidarity Economy.

Foreign tourists played a key role in this increase, with a rise of +17% during the period, accounting for 56% of the total arrivals. The ministry also highlighted the contribution of Moroccans living abroad to this growth, with an increase of +13%.

The responsible minister, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, expressed her satisfaction, noting that “772,000 additional tourists in 5 months is an exceptional achievement for our sector. We are proud of the progress we have made over the past 30 months, in collaboration with the industry and our partners.” She added, “As we enter the summer season, all promotional, aviation, and hospitality plans in our tourist establishments have been carefully set up to ensure an exceptional experience for our visitors. The tourism momentum continues, and we look forward with confidence and determination to what lies ahead.”
