Deloitte Morocco Cyber Center (MCC), a subsidiary of the multinational professional services network Deloitte, and Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P) announced a partnership on Friday aimed at strengthening industrial cybersecurity in Morocco and Africa.

The collaboration, signed in Marrakech on the sidelines of the ongoing Gitex Africa 2024, will focus on creating, designing, and implementing a specialized laboratory dedicated to securing operational technologies (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS).

The initiative will enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of the local and African manufacturing industries, according to UM6P in a press release, as quoted by the news agency MAP.

The new laboratory will address emerging cyber threats by focusing on the protection of technical operations and industrial control systems. The statement added that the partnership is a significant step in bolstering the resilience of these industries against cyber-attacks.
