The General Directorate of National Security of Morocco (DGSN) declared that the new platform against cybercrime establishes fundamental security principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DGSN said today that the new platform, “E-Blagh,” launched this week, is accessible from within and outside Morocco via all internet browsers and applications on both fixed and mobile devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interactive digital platform enables internet and social media users to immediately and securely report any criminal and violent digital content, as well as content that incites harm to others’ safety, and any content that promotes terrorism or related incitement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The platform will also serve against any attempt that infringes on the rights and freedoms of minors and others, DGSN added, stating that the design and development of E-Blagh take into account a “series of measures and ethical principles regarding mechanisms for receiving and processing citizen reports on illegal digital content.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DGSN added that this platform also guarantees strict protection of users’ personal data, with the reporting mechanism offering various options that allow users to declare their identity information or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This new platform establishes fundamental security principles and concerns, including the co-creation of security, making the citizen a partner in consolidating security in its broad definition by reporting all potential risks and threats,” DGSN added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All citizens have access to the digital platform via www.e-blagh.ma<\/a> and can report any potentially criminal content that threatens them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concluding its statement, DGSN said that its security services will handle all reports and alerts with the necessary seriousness and speed, adding that complaints require investigation and interrogation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DGSN’s annual report last year reported that cybercrime offenses increased by 6% in 2023, with 5,965 reported cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The extortionate content reached 4,070 criminal contents, and 842 international assignments were given in these cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The number of individuals arrested and brought to justice for involvement in similar crimes amounted to 874 persons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cybercrime cases included incidents of sexual extortion, according to DGSN, with 508 such cases registered this year, representing an increase of about 18%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report indicated that 182 individuals involved in these criminal acts were arrested last year, while the number of victims stood at 515, including 109 foreigners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
