The global computer industry is poised for a transformative year in 2024. Despite ongoing economic challenges, IT spending is forecast to surge by a significant 8.8%, fueled by a triple threat of innovation: cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), and enhanced cybersecurity.

Leading the charge is the cloud, with cloud-based solutions like SaaS (Software as a Service) and PaaS (Platform as a Service) experiencing explosive growth exceeding 20%. Businesses are also grappling with a persistent shortage of IT talent, turning to outsourcing specialists to fill skill gaps while maintaining flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

While the global picture is optimistic, a closer look at Morocco reveals a different story. The country’s PC market saw a notable decline of 17.16% in 2023. However, there were pockets of resilience. Dell solidified its leadership position with a commanding 32.85% market share, demonstrating the importance of innovation and adaptation in this ever-changing industry.

The computer industry in 2024 presents a tale of two halves: global growth driven by cutting-edge technology and local markets navigating economic headwinds. The key to success, whether on a global or local scale, lies in embracing change and fostering a culture of innovation.
